Love Stories and Inspiration
at the Windy End of
The Moss Street Paint-In

Yes, it was cold and windy at our end of Moss St. but this is where it originally started on the other side of the street (Dallas Rd.) along the waterfront. Further up Moss Street it was very warm in the sun to visit the other 180 artists....

Friends from Germany experience the Paint-In....
Inspirational Sculptors!

Inspirational Sculptors!

Garry Curry, president of the Vancouver Island Society of Disabled Artists was originally inspired to sculpt through watching Roger's cable video on television of Maarten sculpting his first marble sculpture 'My Brother and Sister' the white Carrara marble beluga whales. Garry has gone on to be an amazing sculptor in stone and has inspired many more artists. Robin is one of his students.

A bicycle built for two and a beautiful love story

Peter had fallen in love with the 'Here After' Vancouver Island Yellow Cedar Dove sculpture on Vancouver Island Marble at the beginning of the show. He brought his beloved wife Lorna back to share it. Lorna is legally blind, she caressed every sculpture. That is the gift of three dimensional sculpture....you can see it first through touch. We encourage the young of all ages to get in touch.

Maarten

Hi everyone!

I have recently returned from a trip to China!
The 12 Day Middle Kingdom tour was a revelation and opened my eyes to that which humankind is capable.
The Qin Dynasty Terra Cotta Army took my breath away!

Yes, this was an ego gone berserk, but that 2200 years ago this creative genius existed to produce one of the wonders of the world.

To share this experience with our sons Trevor and Troy made it even more special!

Here is a glimpse of the journey through the creative sensitive photography of our younger son Troy Schaddelee. See his photos of the journey.

What a wonderful experience for Nadina and others to share the journey from the perspective of Maarten and our sons.
